In order to further guide localities to do a good job in the prevention and control of Covid-19 , the State Council revised and formed the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Plan (Ninth Edition). Major revisions about  quarantine management and control area include:

1. Optimize and adjust the duration and method for management quarantine of risky personnel

Adjusted the quarantine and control time for close contacts and inbound personnel from 14-day centralized quarantine medical observation + 7-day home health monitoring to 7-day centralized quarantine medical observation + 3-day home health monitoring, and PCR testing measures were changed from PCR testing on the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 14th days of medical observation, collection of nasopharyngeal swabs, and double-collection and double-examination before release from quarantineto PCR testing on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th days of medical observation and home health monitoring on the 3rd day, collection of oropharyngeal swabs, and double sampling and double testing are not required before the release of centralized quarantine and medical observation. The close contact control measures have been adjusted from 7-day centralized quarantine medical observation to 7-day home quarantine medical observation, and PCR testing on the 1st, 4th, and 7th days.

2. Unify standards for closed control and medium to high risk areas

The high-risk areas implement stay-at-home, door-to-door service, and will be changed into medium-risk areas if no new infections for 7 consecutive days. Medium-risk areas with no new infections for 3 consecutive days will be changed to low-risk areas. In other areas, people with a history of living in high-risk areas within the past 7 days will be subject to 7-day centralized quarantine and medical observation measures. The medium-risk area implements staying out of the area and picking things at different peaks, and will be changed to low-risk area no new infections for 7 consecutive days. In other areas, people with a history of living in medium-risk areas within the past 7 days will be subject to 7-day home medical observation measures. Low-risk areas refer to other areas in the counties (cities, districts) where medium and high risk areas are located, and personal protection and avoidance of gatherings are implemented. In other areas, people with a history of living in low-risk areas within the past 7 days are required to complete 2 PCR tests within 3 days.
